What is NightZard Productions?

NightZard Productions is where I create strange and psychedelic games that aren’t meant to just entertain you. They’re meant to shake you a little. To twist your perception just enough that you start questioning things you didn’t even realize you were holding onto.

These games, and the writing around them, are meant to make you uncomfortable. I want them to press into the parts of reality we usually avoid. The spaces beneath the masks and labels. The things society buries under performance, distraction, and fear.

If it clicks for you, you might start to see the backstages. The place behind the set where the illusion cracks open and something more real begins to bleed through. That’s what happened to me when I began questioning everything. And I’ve never seen the world the same since.

But NightZard is more than just games. It’s a blog that is raw, unfiltered, and brutally honest. I write about ego death, identity, censorship, societal programming, and the truths most people are too scared to look at.

Hey there, welcome to NightZard Productions!

I'm Callan Hansen, the founder of this small indie studio I started back in 2017. What began as a simple love for playing and creating video games has grown into something much deeper, a mission to create experiences that resonate, inspire, and connect with players on a deeper level.

I believe that games are more than just entertainment—they're a powerful way to connect with others and explore the world from different angles. During a time when so much of our lives are influenced by ego, comparison, and the pressures of fitting in, I want to create experiences that offer an escape from that. Games, to me, are a place where creativity just flows, where we can break free from ourselves and experience the world through someone else's eyes. As I've honed my craft, I've come to realize that games aren't just an escape from reality; they can be a way to shift how we perceive the world, open up new possibilities, and even inspire real, lasting change.

Alongside my work in game development, I've also poured my heart into another project: Beyond Reality: Incredible Wonders of Salvia Divinorum. This book is a deeply personal reflection on my surreal, transformative experiences with Salvia and how it's reshaped my understanding of reality. Like the games I create, this book aims to spark curiosity, inspire reflection, and offer a new perspective on the world. It's a project I'm incredibly passionate about, and I hope it resonates with readers just like my games do with players.

I believe games should be more than just something you play. They should be something you experience on a deeper level. Every game I create is a reflection of my passion for storytelling, creativity, and exploring new perspectives. I don’t just want to make games; I want to create something that sticks with you long after you’ve finished playing—something that encourages you to see the world in a more connected way.
